Built for Ranches Where Standard Tags Don't Survive

On an open-range cattle station, a dairy farm through a snowy winter, or a nomadic herding operation under desert sun, the tag on the animal's ear has a brutal job. It faces chewing, fence-snagging, mud, rain, disinfectant wash, sub-zero freeze and tropical heat - often all in the same year. This rugged UHF RFID cattle ear tag is engineered specifically for that job.

The outer shell is reinforced TPU, tough enough to resist livestock biting and rough rubbing. The Alien H3 UHF inlay inside is fully sealed within the polymer body, so moisture, dust and chemicals never reach the chip or antenna. The operating range of -35℃ to +75℃ is not a lab-only number - it is the window we commit to because our tags have already been deployed across cold-climate herding in Mongolia and high-heat livestock programs in sub-Saharan Africa.

Why Source From Syntek

  1. Factory direct, not a trading company. We manufacture both the TPU and the finished ear tag. That is the structural reason our wholesale pricing is close to the lowest globally, while performance is benchmarked against Allflex-class products.

  2. Production capacity of 500,000 – 600,000 sets per month. One of the fastest ear tag production lines in the industry, able to support national-scale livestock traceability projects without slipping on quality.

  3. Bid-drop rate under 1%. Verified across real multi-year field deployments. For buyers comparing us against cheaper alternatives, we encourage a pull-test on samples before a bulk commitment.

  4. OEM and ODM customization. Ranch or farm logos, consecutive number ranges, laser-engraved codes, barcodes, custom colors - all supported. The UHF memory can be pre-encoded with your animal ID scheme at the factory.

  5. Fast delivery. We keep semi-finished stock on the shelf, so orders start moving immediately, and long-standing express partners keep shipping rates competitive.

  6. Company background. JingZhou Syntek Smart Technology Co., Ltd., established in 2006, specialized in RFID animal ear tags and related livestock identification products.

What Makes This a True Heavy Duty Ear Tag

1. Reinforced TPU body, built to resist biting and snagging.
The thermoplastic polyurethane outer layer holds up to the constant chewing, rubbing and snagging that destroy softer PVC ear tags. In our field data across multi-year deployments the bid-drop rate has been less than 1% - a number we deliberately benchmarked against Allflex-class products on the same herds.

2. Stable performance from -35℃ to +75℃.
The TPU formulation does not turn brittle in winter cold and does not warp under intense summer sun. That is what lets a single weatherproof livestock tag serve operations from the Mongolian steppe in January to equatorial grazing in July.

3. Fully waterproof and dustproof encapsulation.
The chip and antenna live inside the polymer body, not glued on top of it. Rain, mud, manure contact, urine, spray-down disinfectant during biosecurity routines - none of them reach the electronics. That is the whole reason this ear tag holds up on farms where other tags fail silently.

4. Tamper-evident lock for anti-theft deployments.
The locking geometry cannot be opened and re-closed cleanly - any removal is visually obvious. For livestock anti-theft programs and cross-border identification systems, that tamper-evident structure is often the single most important feature on the spec sheet.

5. Batch UHF reading for large-herd throughput.
The Alien H3 chip supports anti-collision, so a handheld scanner or gate reader can identify many animals in a single pass - a practical fit for feedlot management, dairy parlor entry and chute-side vaccination recording.

Why Our TPU Material Is Different

Syntek runs its own in-house TPU production line - one of very few ear tag factories in the world with direct upstream control of the raw polymer. That vertical integration is the reason a reinforced polyurethane cattle ID tag from our factory can hold Allflex-class durability at factory-direct pricing, without a trading-company markup in the middle.

The polymer is soft where it contacts the animal's ear tissue, so the pinhole heals cleanly and the animal is not irritated. At the same time, the outside surface is mechanically tough against the environment. Soft inside, rugged outside - that is exactly the dual behavior a livestock identification tag needs when it has to stay on a beef cow for the full productive life of the animal.

Because the TPU is non-toxic and skin-friendly, the same material is safe across cattle, dairy cows, buffalo, sheep, goats and other large or small ruminants that will eventually enter the food chain.

Where This Ear Tag Has Already Been Proven

This is not a paper spec. Over the past years we have shipped the same reinforced TPU ear tag into some of the most demanding real-world livestock environments on earth, which is the real reason we are comfortable positioning it as a field-grade rugged product:

Mongolia - large-scale ear tag management for open-steppe herds. Nomadic and semi-nomadic cattle operations where animals graze year-round through brutal winter cold. The cold-tolerant TPU formulation was the specific reason our tags were chosen over earlier PVC alternatives that cracked in the freeze.

Senegal & Mauritania - cattle anti-theft identification programs. The tamper-evident lock and on-tag unique ID are used by herders and authorities to verify ownership at village markets and border crossings. In these projects the mechanical toughness of the tag, not the read range, is the decisive spec.

Botswana - national electronic ear tag management program. Integrated into the country's beef traceability infrastructure, exposing every tag to year-round UV, seasonal rains and long cross-country herd movements.

Beyond these flagship deployments, the same rugged livestock ID tag fits naturally into beef ranch and feedlot management, dairy herd parlor entry, sheep and goat flock traceability, farm biosecurity and disease-control programs, and meat quarantine / farm-to-slaughter traceability workflows.

FAQ

Q: What exactly makes this ear tag heavy duty compared with a standard animal tag?

A: Three things working together. The reinforced TPU outer shell is tougher against chewing, rubbing and snagging. The chip and antenna are fully sealed inside the polymer body, so water, mud and chemicals cannot reach them. And the operating range is validated across -35℃ to +75℃. Those three together are what produce the sub-1% bid-drop rate we see in the field.

Q: Will the tag hold up in cold-climate winters and tropical heat?

A: Yes. That is exactly the positioning. The TPU material stays flexible in extreme cold and stable under intense sun, which is why it has been deployed in cold-climate Mongolian herding projects and in equatorial livestock programs without reformulation.

Q: Will the ear tag cause discomfort to the animal?

A: No. The TPU is soft and skin-friendly at the contact point, so the animal is not irritated. The mechanical toughness is on the outside, where the tag faces the environment.

Q: Do you support customization?

A: Yes. The surface can be printed, silkscreened or laser-engraved with consecutive numbers, farm or ranch logos, barcodes and custom artwork. The chip memory can also be pre-encoded with your animal ID scheme before shipping.

Q: What is the data storage capacity of the tag?

A: The ear tag has a large on-chip storage capacity, enough to hold core animal identification data, health records and vaccination history. Data is secure and supports read/write, which effectively prevents forgery or tampering.

Q: Can I get samples before placing a bulk order?

A: Yes. Samples are available for evaluation; sample lead time is 4 to 6 days. We actively encourage customers to run their own field or lab tests - pull test, cold-weather trial, weather exposure - before committing to a volume order. That is the best way to confirm the durability claim on this page.

Q: What other products can I buy from Syntek?

A: Beyond the rugged cattle ear tag range, we also supply RFID key fobs, smart cards, TM (iButton) tags, and RFID animal microchip (glass transponder) tubes for implantable livestock identification.
