Ask which recycling route the yarn comes from, mechanical or chemical, since the study above concerns a particular route rather than all of them. Ask whether the quoted figure is cradle-to-gate or cradle-to-grave, because a lanyard's disposal is a real part of its footprint and a cradle-to-gate number silently excludes it. Ask how impacts were allocated between the bottle's original use and the fabric, since a cut-off method and an open-loop method on the same physical product will not return the same figure.
And when the answers do not come back? Then the rule we use is to treat the supplier's reduction figure as unusable and re-run the case at the conservative floor of the published range, near thirty percent. That is not a penalty applied to the supplier. The same authority notes that converting bamboo into rayon requires toxic chemicals and produces hazardous pollutants.
Lanyard webbing is a textile. The rule applies to it exactly as it applies to a bath towel.

Here is our position, and it is not "both have merits". If a supplier's quotation says bamboo without saying rayon or viscose, that supplier has either not read the labelling rule or is relying on you not having read it, and neither answer improves the odds on the rest of the specification. The threshold numbers underneath deserve equal attention. The Recycled Claim Standard begins at five percent recycled content. The Global Recycled Standard begins at twenty percent, and fifty percent is required before the GRS logo may be used (Textile Exchange).

Three documents that agree with each other, and a supplier who volunteers all three without being walked through it. If any two of them disagree, that disagreement is not an administrative nuisance to be resolved before filing. It is the finding, and it is the one an auditor would have reached eventually. What this checklist deliberately does not contain is the other half of the sheet: what an acceptable answer to each of the nine looks like, and which answers should stop an order outright rather than simply get annotated in the file. That half moves with volume, destination market and whether the claim reaches consumers, so it is not something we can usefully write as a table. It gets worked out against a specific quotation.
